Special Education Teacher - Rohnert Park, CA

Job Description Bachelor&#39;s or Master&#39;s degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available working with a 2nd-3rd grade Special Day Class designed for students with social-emotional and behavioral needs. This role requires an educator with expertise in behavior strategies who can create a supportive, structured learning environment for children who may occasionally exhibit challenging behaviors, including swearing and aggression toward peers and staff.Location: Rohnert Park, CAEmployment Type: Full-time ContractStudent Group: Special Day Class, Grades 2-3Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student&#39;s social-emotional and academic needsUtilize effective behavior management techniques to support positive behavior and manage challenging situations calmly and consistentlyFoster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and engagementCollaborate with support staff, parents, and administrators to provide comprehensive care and educationMaintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, adjusting strategies as necessaryQualifications:Valid Special Education teaching credentialExperience working with students who have social-emotional and behavioral challengesStrong understanding of behavior intervention strategies and de-escalation techniquesPatience, resilience, and excellent communication skills to effectively support students exhibiting aggressive behaviorsAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamThis position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who require specialized teaching and support.
