Headquartered in Canton, MA, we are dedicated to our mission of making "Measurement Made Easy."Role DescriptionThe Technical Support Engineer provides advanced technical support for dimensional metrology systems, software, and applications. This role serves as a technical escalation point for customers, field service engineers, and internal teams, diagnosing and resolving equipment and software issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime.This position supports the full lifecycle of precision measurement equipment, including troubleshooting, application support, service contract execution, and field service enablement. The Technical Support Engineer also contributes to technical documentation, knowledge development, and continuous improvement of service operations.Primary ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support and TroubleshootingProvide remote troubleshooting and diagnostic support for dimensional metrology systems including height gages, optical comparators, vision systems, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), and associated measurement software.Perform structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis to restore equipment performance and prevent recurrence.Provide advanced software configuration, troubleshooting, and application-level support.Serve as the final diagnostic escalation authority for complex technical issues that cannot be resolved by Field Service Engineers.Identify recurring technical issues and develop standardized resolution procedures to improve service efficiency and reduce repeat failures.Field Service and Service Contract SupportServe as technical escalation point for field service engineers.Support execution and delivery of service agreements and preventive maintenance programs.Assist in service planning including parts identification, repair strategy, and technical readiness.Provide diagnostic guidance and resolution direction while Field Service Engineers perform field execution, including installation, repair, calibration, and training.Knowledge Base and Documentation OwnershipDevelop, maintain, and own technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and service bulletins.Own and maintain the technical knowledge base to ensure consistent and scalable service delivery.Contribute to internal knowledge base and technical advisories.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Service, Engineering, Product Management, and Sales to support technical resolution and product improvement.Support internal technical training and knowledge transfer initiatives.Provide technical expertise to support service scalability, product reliability improvements, and continuous improvement of service operations.QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Metrology, or related technical discipline preferred, or equivalent technical experience.3–7 years of experience in technical support, field service, calibration, or metrology-related role.Experience supporting precision measurement equipment is strongly preferred.Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.Advanced software and application-level troubleshooting experience.Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service documentation.Calibration and metrology knowledge preferred, including understanding of measurement principles and accuracy requirements.Experience using CRM or field service management systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.Work EnvironmentPrimarily office-based role located in Canton, MA with minimal travel (<10%) to support field service, training, or customer needs.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceExperience:mechanical, electrical or electromechanical: 3 years (Required)Ability to Commute:Canton, MA 02021 (Required)
