WITNESS COORDINATOR II - (County Court)

Position Overview
The Witness Coordinator II provides secretarial and caseload support for four (4) to five (5) Assistant State Attorneys, helping to prepare availabilities and contacting victims and witnesses for trial hearings. This position is available as Full-time or Part-time. The work schedule for Full-time positions is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Part-time positions require a minimum of 20 hours per week (depending on assigned division). This position offers a Limited Flexible Work Schedule and Teleworking Option.
The Job Responsibilities are
Preparing weekly availability lists for Standby trials
Generating subpoenas for upcoming mandatory trial hearings
Verifying addresses and contact information and retrieving valid email addresses
Preparing witness locates
Coordinating transportation of victims and witnesses for pre-file conferences and trial hearings
Assessing victims' needs and making appropriate referrals to community resources for victims' assistance
Updating addresses and contact information in TIS or Hydra
Explaining the restitution process to victims and the necessary documents needed
Requesting eligible cases be set for restitution hearing
Assisting the Assistant State Attorneys when preparing for trial
Handling numerous incoming and outgoing telephone calls from defense attorneys, police agencies, victim/witnesses and other outside agencies
Providing back-up support to other Witness Coordinators
Performing other related duties as assigned
The Minimum requirements are
High School Diploma or its equivalent, and one (1) year experience with work in the area of criminal justice, social science, counseling, public contact/customer service or,
An equivalent combination of training and experience
The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are
Being fluent in English and Spanish or English and Creole

Starting Annual Salary: $34,824.48
