Job Description: Transcriptionist / Subtitling SpecialistLocation: United StatesAbout the Role We are seeking skilled and detail‑oriented Transcriptionists to support our multimedia localization and accessibility projects. The ideal candidate has strong linguistic expertise, excellent listening skills, and experience working with transcription and subtitling tools. You will be responsible for producing accurate, high‑quality transcripts that meet client specifications and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTranscribe audio and video content accurately and consistently into English.Create transcripts and subtitles that follow project‑specific guidelines, including character limits, reading speed, segmentation rules, and timing/sync requirements.Convey meaning, tone, and sentiment naturally—prioritizing clarity over literal translation.Remove unnecessary fillers, stammers, and repetitions while preserving the speaker’s natural voice.Ensure all content is faithful to the source audio, with no omissions or substitutions.Collaborate with project managers and quality teams to clarify instructions, raise issues, and ensure smooth workflows.Use industry‑standard tools such as Subtitle Edit, CaptionHub, or similar platforms.Maintain consistency in style, terminology, and formatting across all deliverables.Required Qualifications Academic BackgroundDegree in Translation, Linguistics, Philology, or Audiovisual TranslationProfessional certification in a related fieldMinimum of 1000 minutes of proven transcription/subtitling experience in multimedia projectsLanguage SkillsDeep cultural awareness of both source and target languages, with the ability to localize creatively and appropriatelyTechnical & Professional SkillsExperience working with subtitling constraints (CPL, WPM, segmentation, sync)Ability to understand and convey the main message rather than translate word‑for‑wordHigh attention to detail and accuracyReliable, responsive, and consistent in meeting deadlinesFamiliarity with captioning, audio description, and multimedia accessibility standardsPersonal AttributesCreative and inventive approach to languageProactive and flexible mindsetAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasksCommitment to delivering high‑quality, polished work*Please note there will be a testing phase as part of the hiring process.#J-18808-Ljbffr
