Senior Specialty Coder - Orthopedics Remote - Irving, TX Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Temp to Hire Pay Rate: $35-$40/hour About the Opportunity We're looking for an experienced Senior Specialty Coder with a strong Orthopedic Surgery background to join a growing healthcare team. This is a remote, temp-to-perm opportunity where you'll work on complex, high-value specialty coding cases and play a key role in ensuring accurate documentation and reimbursement. What You'll Do Perform advanced coding for orthopedic surgery cases (inpatient and/or outpatient) Assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT codes in accordance with official guidelines Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher Abstract and enter data into EPIC EMR system Validate patient records, physician documentation, and coding details Work on high-dollar and specialty-specific accounts Collaborate with HIM teams and Clinical Documentation Specialists Help reduce denials and support accurate billing processes What We're Looking For Required: Minimum 2+ years of coding experience Strong background in Orthopedic Surgery coding Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and/or CPT Experience using EPIC EMR system Active coding certification (must be verifiable online) High School Diploma (required with submission) Ability to work full-time hours Preferred: Orthopedic specialty certification (e.g., COSC - AAPC)
