OverviewBanquet Server - Tipped at Mohegan Sun. This position is responsible for serving guests in accordance with department policies, procedures and steps of service.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides prompt and courteous food and beverage service to banquet guestsResponsible for the set-up and break down of assigned work stationsMaintains a safe and sanitary work areaResponsible for clearing dishes, glassware and trash from work stationsSecondary Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollows departmental sanitation and safety techniquesKnowledgeable of alcoholic offerings and wine menusMinimum Education and QualificationsSix months of previous food experience in a fast-paced, high-volume casino environmentThorough knowledge of state liquor laws, proper identifications procedures, shut offs and refusal of serviceExcellent communication skillsFriendly outgoing personalityMust have a valid driver's licenseCompetenciesThorough knowledge of operational policies with regard to hours of operation, types of menus offered, restaurant concepts and marketing programsGood understanding of spirits, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes and all beverage service techniquesSkilled in proper tray handlingGood understanding of food products including sauces, dairy and cheeses, cuts of meat, fowl and fish, fruits and vegetables, pasta, breads and starches and desserts and pastryGood understanding of food preparation and cooking techniquesThorough point of sale system knowledgeUnderstanding of all legal beverage service guidelines and state liquor laws including proper identification, refusal of service and shutoff proceduresKnowledge of Ballroom, Convention Center, storeroom locations and various catering areas throughout the casinoTraining RequirementsSMART alcohol awarenessServe Safe TrainingPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of timeMust be able to work in outside elements, as neededMust be able to work various shifts and flexible hoursThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with the job.
