Then come grow with us!About the Role:The Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives is a hands-on leader responsible for driving operational excellence, efficiency, and best practices across Canopy USA's cultivation and manufacturing operations. This role focuses on diagnosing production challenges, implementing scalable improvements, standardizing processes, and training teams at facilities nationwide to achieve superior yield, quality, and cost outcomes.This position is ideal for an experienced cannabis production expert with deep technical knowledge in cultivation and manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in regulated, fast-paced environments while collaborating cross-functionally.How you'll make a difference:* Strategic Alignment & Planningo Partner with executive leadership to define, prioritize, and operationalize strategic objectives.o Facilitate annual and quarterly planning processes, ensuring alignment across all business units.o Monitor progress against key company goals and drive accountability through metrics and reporting.* Production Assessment & Improvemento Spend significant time onsite at cultivation and manufacturing facilities to assess workflows, identify bottlenecks, and diagnose issues in grow environments, processing, extraction, and packaging.o Design, document, and implement optimized operational processes, SOPs, and best practices for consistency and scalability across locations and subsidiaries.o Lead yield enhancement, cost reduction, and quality improvement initiatives specific to cultivation (e.g., horticulture, IPM, environmental controls) and manufacturing (e.g., extraction, infusion, packaging).* Hands-On Implementation & Trainingo Work directly with facility teams to integrate new processes, systems, and procedures, providing training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for sustainable adoption.o Ensure communication of changes to VP Supply Chain & Operations, and Facility Director for alignment and executiono Serve as a change management leader for production-related initiatives, ensuring buy-in and effective handover to local teams.* Cross-Functional & Enterprise Alignmento Collaborate with operations, compliance, supply chain, and quality teams to align production standards across all Canopy USA subsidiaries.o Partner with the Strategic Initiatives team on broader enterprise projects impacting production.o Promote transparency and progress tracking for production metrics and initiatives.* Operational Excellence & Metricso Develop frameworks, tools, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track key production performance indicators (e.g., yield per square foot, extraction efficiency, waste reduction, compliance adherence).o Track project performance, monitor key metrics, and report progress to executive leadership.o Execute job duties across all Canopy USA subsidiaries and affiliated companies, ensuring consistent production standards, communication, and operational alignment throughout the enterpriseSkills to be Successful:Minimum Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Engineering, Business, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.8+ years of progressive experience in cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, or regulated production operations.Proven track record of leading process improvements and teams in multi-site or vertically integrated cannabis operations strongly preferred.Experience working directly with executive leadership teams or boards strongly preferred.Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.Deep expertise in cannabis cultivation (grow cycles, genetics, IPM, facility design) and/or manufacturing (extraction, processing, quality control).Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills in production environments.Experience with seed-to-sale systems, compliance tracking (e.g., METRC), and production metrics.Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to train teams and influence across all levels.Ability to travel frequently to operational facilities and work in grow/processing environments.Perks & Benefits:Full suite of medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid parental leave401 (k)Paid Time OffShort Term and Long-Term DisabilityEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee life insurance and supplemental lifeSpouse and child life and AD&DPet insuranceFSA and HSA availableBased on eligibility.Work Environment and Physical Demands:The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
