Junior Software EngineerCTG is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for a W-2 contract assignment with a long-standing client. This is an onsite position in Painted Post, NY, and candidates must be able to commute to the worksite. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation: up to $40.25 hourly depending on experience Education: Bachelor's degree requiredPosition Overview: The Junior Software Engineer will help develop, test, troubleshoot, and support software used in manufacturing environments. The work may involve measurement and inspection systems, machine vision, image processing, data collection, machine learning, and reporting applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career software engineer interested in gaining hands-on experience with manufacturing technology and automation systems.Key Responsibilities:Develop, test, debug, and support manufacturing software applicationsAssist with software used for measurement, inspection, machine vision, and image processingSupport data collection, analysis, machine learning, and reporting systemsParticipate in software design, code reviews, testing, and quality-assurance activitiesDiagnose software issues and work with team members to implement solutionsCreate and maintain clear technical documentationCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other technical teamsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related fieldUp to three years of software development experience; recent graduates are encouraged to applyProgramming experience with one or more of the following: C#, Python, C++, Java, or MATLABUnderstanding of object-oriented programming and software design principlesFamiliarity with the software development life cycle, testing, debugging, and quality assuranceExperience with version-control tools such as Git, GitLab, Subversion, or Visual SourceSafeStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsClear written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue, React, Angular, or a similar front-end frameworkFamiliarity with web services or microservicesExperience working with relational databases or performing data analysisExposure to sensors, cameras, motion systems, machine vision, image processing, or industrial control systemsPrevious academic, internship, or project experience involving manufacturing software or automation
