Railcar Paint TechnicianLocation: Salt Lake City, Utah Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 hourly Contractor Work Model: OnsiteOverviewResponsibilitiesPerform painting of vehicle surfaces using materials such as lacquer, resin, and other coatingsRemove dirt, grease, and old paint from vehicle surfaces to prepare for paintingUse liquid paint remover, scraper, and other techniques for paint removalInspect vehicle parts to determine if replacement, protection, or sanding is required for proper paintingMaintain hand tools and ensure paint booth filters and fan belts are replaced as neededMix colors accurately to match original vehicle color specificationsApply primers and repaint surfaces using spray gunsPolish painted surfaces through wet-sanding and buffing techniquesMask vehicle sections with tape and paper to ensure proper multi-color applicationsRequirementsPhysical fitness and good posture to handle physically demanding tasks involving standing, walking, stooping, and bendingFamiliarity with painting equipment and use of safety materials such as respirators due to toxic chemical exposureAbility to work long hours and endure physically demanding shiftsAttention to detail in color mixing and component inspectionGood communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactionAt least two years of automotive painting experience or trainingHigh School diploma or equivalentSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joul and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
