Preschool Associate Teacher

Seneca Academy — a dynamic, tight-knit, caring school community — is seeking a creative, energetic Preschool Associate Teacher to join a team of dedicated educators three days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). At Seneca Academy, faculty develop lasting, supportive relationships with students and their families. Our inquiry-based curriculum teaches children to think deeply, communicate effectively, and interact positively. Therefore, individuals with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a lead teacher; actively engage students in the learning process in both small and large groups under the direction of a lead teacher; participate in or supervise lunch, snack, and playground activities as assigned; participate in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in the classroom; and manage behavior in a nurturing and affirming manner are encouraged to apply. Candidates with at least one year of classroom experience and those who have MSDE or CDA credentials (or are working towards credentials) are strongly preferred. Pay is commensurate with experience. Located in Darnestown, MD, Seneca Academy is a preschool through fifth grade International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program World School. Our self-contained classes average 10-14 students in elementary and 12-16 in preschool; all preschool classes, and some elementary classes, have an associate teacher to support the lead teachers.
