This part-time, on-site position is ideal for individuals who thrive in hands-on environments and are eager to contribute to efficient, safe, and reliable movement and maintenance of materials and equipment.Key Responsibilities IncludeLoading and unloading trucks and other conveyancesTransporting supplies, materials, and equipment using hand trucks, dollies, straps, and other toolsStacking materials for storage and organizing inventoryMoving and arranging heavy office furniture, appliances, antiques, and other itemsAssembling and disassembling office furniture with hand and power toolsInstalling and mounting items such as whiteboards, frames, and shelves securely on wallsPerforming basic upkeep and light maintenance tasks, including tightening fixtures and adjusting furnitureSecuring transported items to prevent shifting and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation requirementsPacking items for moving, with special care for fragile or sensitive equipmentRequirementsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent6+ months of experience in labor, moving, or general maintenance/assembly workProficiency with hand and power toolsAbility to lift at least 60 pounds and stand for extended periodsAbility to work in hot, cold, cramped, or otherwise uncomfortable environments, including using ladders when neededEnglish proficiency sufficient to safely perform on-site work and follow written instructionsIdentification documents eligible for processing through a federal background investigationAbility to travel between job sites within the Washington, DC metro areaAvailable on-call/as-needed and able to report to work upon requestPreferred QualificationsExperience assembling and disassembling office furnitureExperience mounting wall fixtures (e.g., whiteboards, frames, shelves)Ability to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements when securing transported itemsAvailable for assignments that may begin as early as 7:30 a.m. Monday–FridayBenefitsComprehensive health insurance coverage (medical, dental, vision)Paid time off and federal holidaysRetirement plan optionsProfessional development and training opportunitiesSupportive work environment with opportunities for growthPart-Time positions are not eligible for benefits
