Deck & Fence Builder

Job Description Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fencing and Deck Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and repairing various types of fences and decks. This role requires a strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in various outdoor conditions, as well as reliable transportation as we move from jobsite to jobsite.Key Responsibilities:Fencing Construction: - Measure, cut, and install various types of fencing materials (wood, vinyl, chain link, etc.).- Ensure all fencing structures meet local building codes and regulations.- Repair existing fences as needed.Deck Building:- Construct decks according to customer specifications and design plans.- Use appropriate materials and techniques for building high-quality, durable decks.- Install railings, stairs, and other accessories as required.Site Preparation:- Prepare job sites by clearing debris, leveling ground, and ensuring a safe working environment.- Utilize tools such as post hole diggers, saws, drills, and hand tools in the construction and repair process.Customer Interaction:- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide recommendations.- Present a professional demeanor and foster positive customer relations throughout the project lifecycle.Safety Practices:- Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and other crew members.- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.Team Collaboration:- Work collaboratively as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and within deadlines.- Assist other tradespeople as needed and partake in training opportunities to enhance skills.Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in construction, carpentry, or a related field is a plus, but none required- Proven experience in fencing and deck building or other carpentry work.- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction, is a plus- Proficient in using various hand and power tools.- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials as required.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Preferred Skills:- Experience with alternative materials (e.g., composite decking).- Previous customer service experience.
