Head of Marketing / Chief Marketing Officer
Position OverviewThe Head of Marketing will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy across all business units. This individual will oversee brand positioning, customer acquisition, and revenue-driving initiatives across auctions, retail galleries, marketplace, services, and social commerce channels.This role requires a blend of strategic vision, analytical rigor, and hands-on execution, with the ability to operate both at a high level and in the details of campaign development.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and execute a unified marketing strategy aligned with company growth objectives across all business linesBuild and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and strong ROIEstablish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure performance and optimize campaignsMarketing Planning & ExecutionCreate and manage a comprehensive marketing calendar across auctions, retail, marketplace, and servicesDevelop tailored marketing plans for:Auctions: Drive consignments and bidder participation across global salesRetail Galleries: Increase foot traffic, purchases, and walk-in consignmentsStack’s Marketplace: Acquire and retain buyers and sellersServices: Promote Vault, Collectibles Market Qualified (CMQ), and Coins in MotionApex Streams (Whatnot): Scale live social commerce presence and customer engagementChannel ManagementOversee execution across a diverse set of marketing channels:Print advertising in trade publicationsSEO and organic search growthSEM and paid acquisition campaignsAI-driven optimization and emerging marketing technologiesDigital marketing (email, social, display, affiliate)Broadcast opportunities including radio and televisionTeam & Agency LeadershipBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team across disciplinesManage external agencies and vendors (creative, media buying, PR, SEO, etc.)Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous improvementCross-Functional CollaborationCoordinate closely with auction, gallery, marketplace, and operations teams to align marketing initiativesPartner with numismatic specialists and business leaders to bring products and stories to market effectivelyCollaborate with Gold.com affiliated companies to share best practices, leverage synergies, and optimize group-wide performanceQualifications10+ years of marketing leadership experience, ideally within collectibles, luxury goods, marketplaces, or e-commerceProven track record of driving revenue growth through multi-channel marketing strategiesExperience managing significant marketing budgets with strong analytical and ROI focusDeep understanding of both traditional and digital marketing channelsExperience with marketplace platforms and/or social commerce (e.g., Whatnot, eBay Live) preferredStrong leadership, communication, and project management skillsEntrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environmentFull-Time | $200,000 - $250,000 / Annually | On-site - Costa Mesa, CAPerks & BenefitsHealth, vision, dental, and life insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation & holidaysFlexible spending accountEmployee Assistance ProgramEqual Opportunity Employer.
