Pipe Welder/Fitter
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Pipe Welder to focus on the repair, modification, and maintenance of piping systems within active industrial facilities. Unlike a shop-based fabrication or new construction role, this position requires performing field welding on existing lines, often in tight spaces or out-of-position environments during live plant operations or planned shutdowns.
Responsibilities:
Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty alloys using SMAW (Stick) and GTAW (TIG) processes.
Prepare used or contaminated piping for welding (grinding, beveling, cleaning) under challenging field conditions.
Produce 100% X-ray and hydro-test quality welds in 6G and restricted positions, adhering to ASME codes.
Collaborate with Pipe Fitters to execute precise system modifications and tie-ins.
Adhere to strict facility standards, including hot work permits, fire watch protocols, and confined space ventilation.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years in pipe welding, specifically within industrial construction, plant maintenance, or shutdown environments.
Proficient in reading blueprints, isometric drawings, and weld symbols.
Ability to pass a 5G/6G pipe welding test.
