The ideal candidate will have strong experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel equipment and will take pride in producing organized, efficient, and high-quality work. This individual should be comfortable handling complex diagnostics, supporting overall shop workflow, and serving as a dependable technical resource within the team.This position plays a critical role within our organization and offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals who take pride in delivering high-quality work and keeping our customers on the road. Our mission is to be the premier truck and heavy equipment repair facility in the state of Michigan and achieving that mission starts with building the best team possible.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues in heavy-duty diesel equipmentPerform preventative maintenance services and complete thorough inspectionsTroubleshoot and repair fuel systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, driveline components, brakes, clutches, and trailersUtilize diagnostic software, technical manuals, and schematics to accurately identify and resolve issuesMaintain accurate, detailed, and organized repair documentationSupport efficient shop workflow by communicating repair status, prioritizing tasks effectively, and helping maintain productivity standardsAssist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and service baysWork collaboratively with team members while helping promote quality workmanship and consistent repair standardsServe as a positive and reliable presence within the shop by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, integrity, and a strong work ethicAssist less experienced technicians when needed and contribute to a team-oriented environmentRequirements:Skills and Qualifications:Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic or similar roleStrong experience with driveline systems, trailers, brakes, clutches, and diesel engine repairAdvanced diagnostic and troubleshooting abilitiesProficient with diagnostic tools, software, and repair equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair proceduresStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage workflow and maintain accurate documentationExcellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detailStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficientlyValid driver's license required; CDL and/or industry certifications preferredWHAT WE ARE OFFERING:Excellent pay with great benefitsPerformance-based and certification incentive bonusesPaid time off and vacation accrual401(k) with company matchPositive work environmentInsurance available within the first 30 days of employmentEmployee discount programCompany-provided life insuranceEmployee referral programWHY ALMA TIRE COMPANIES?Alma Tire Companies' mission is to serve our communities with enthusiasm, integrity, and professionalism while providing personal and professional advancement opportunities for our people.
