Rail Support OperatorPosition Title: Rail Support Operator
Location: Decatur, AL USA
Salary: $20.00/hour

Job Duties and ResponsibilityFollow safety procedures for machine and activities and perform safe operational activities in order to avoid safety incidents
Be aware when it may be necessary to clean various filters in order to retain good flow and unloading speed
Keep rail unloading work area clean and free from debris
Make lead operator in resin aware when it is necessary to perform maintenance on any and all rail unloading equipment (ex: shuttle wagon, pump, blower, filter)
Execute raw material handling, charging and monitoring consumption in prescribed format
Co-ordination with resin lead/filter cleaning agency for filter readiness.
End-to-end waste handling within the shift. Waste disposal at designated place
Writing shift reports and making others aware of abnormalities (process, product, machine) during shift
When not engaged in rail specific tasks, it may be necessary to help with other sections of the plant
Reading and understanding work instructions in work group area
Additional duties as assigned
Submit sample of each rail car to resin lab operator for quality checks BEFORE unloading rail car
If necessary, reject arriving rail cars that fail quality control checks
Prevent contamination of raw materials during shipping and unloading
Maintain proper housekeeping of the rail yard and work area based on 5S principles
Keep log book of all received/shipped rail cars and dates of when they were received/unloaded/shipped out
Assist in implementing and maintaining ISO standards (ex: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 22000) in work group
Suggest and implement kaizen (Improvements) to improve overall performance in terms of PQCDSME. Preparing OPLS and training based on PQCDSME
Comply with OT requirement per the shift schedule and the Overtime Management Procedure
Physical Requirements
Able to Bend, twist, stoop, sit, squats, kneel, crawl, push and pull
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to reach in all directions
Able to walk and stand for extended periods of time to cover 12 hour shifts

Certificate & Training Requirements
Complete and maintain: DOT's (Department of Transportation) requirements for: shipping papers, BULK loading and general safety and awareness
Complete and maintain Shuttle Wagon and Forklift certification
On-Boarding, Assignment Training and annual training
Ideal Incumbent profile:
Education: High School Diploma or GED Required
Industry Experience: At least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
