Controller Walnut Creek, CA 94596 (100% onsite) POSITION SUMMARY:The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, reporting, and strategy. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction or heavy equipment contracting and a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the industry. This role reports directly to the Board of Directors and collaborates closely with project managers and executives to ensure the company's financial health and growth KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee and manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and payrollPrepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to support strategic decision-makingEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations, including tax filings and auditsDevelop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reportingPartner with project managers to monitor project budgets, costs, and profitabilityManage cash flow and working capital to support ongoing operations and investmentsSupervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and team developmentIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operationsSupport the Board in strategic planning and financial forecasting QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferredMinimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleIndustry experience in construction, heavy equipment, or a related field is highly preferredSix Sigma certification or demonstrated process improvement experience is preferredProven ability to cultivate, mentor, and develop high-performing teams within a collaborative environmentStrong experience working cross-functionally with project managers, operations teams, executives, and external stakeholdersProficiency in accounting software; experience with Viewpoint Vista or similar construction accounting software is a plusStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirementsExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProven ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a strategic mindset and the ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term goals WHAT WE OFFER:Competitive salary and performance-based incentivesComprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plansOpportunities for professional development and career advancementA collaborative and supportive work environment with a focus on innovation and excellence We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are an organization that values diversity.
