The opening is to support engineering, ensure components are reliable and effective, find alternate sources and track component qualifications. Responsible for strategic sourcing and establishes standards for components with development teams.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Review BOM's for obsolescence.Support design teams in the selection of electronic components.Drive qualifications of EOL/Obsolete component solutions.Investigate and promote alternative solutions.Facilitate communication and interactions between suppliers and design teams.Conduct failure analysis/corrective action with suppliers.Assist in identifying and resolving manufacturing problems.Manage approved vendor list. Desired QualificationsApplicant should be able to manage part qualification efforts. Help in defining test methods, reporting and tracking.Experience working with external vendors. Communicating specifications and finding alternate solutions.Tracking work progress and reporting on status.EducationBachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred MajorElectrical EngineeringMinimum Years of Experience5-10 yearsLanguage SkillsMust have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents; such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
