Physician - Department of Radiology, Program Director, Thoracic Radiology Fellowship (Open Rank/Track Faculty)The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.Position OverviewReporting to the Department Chair, this Fellowship Program Director will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of educational and patient care outcomes within the training program. The Program Director will work in collaboration with Department leadership, GME leadership, hospital administrative leadership, and other applicable leadership to provide operational leadership with the Department and OSUWMC.Department/Division OverviewThe Ohio State University Department of Radiology is experiencing significant growth across its research, education, and clinical missions, positioning it as a national leader in imaging innovation and care delivery. The Center for Imaging Excellence (CIE) serves as a cornerstone of this advancement, bringing together multidisciplinary teams to accelerate translational research in MRI, CT, and PET imaging. With an expanding focus on artificial intelligencesupported by Ohio State's designation as an ACR Recognized Center for Healthcare-AI (ARCH-AI)as well as theranostics and advanced imaging technologies, and ongoing renovations to support state-of-the-art infrastructure and collaborative team science, the CIE is strengthening its role in discovery, education, and training the next generation of imaging scientists.The department continues to strengthen its educational programs through a comprehensive portfolio of residencies and subspecialty fellowships, supporting a diverse pathway for trainees and reinforcing its commitment to excellence in graduate medical education across diagnostic and interventional radiology.Clinically, Radiology is rapidly expanding to meet growing patient demand and support the Wexner Medical Center's Impact 2035 strategic vision. This includes major investments in new and renovated facilities, such as the recently opened 820-bed inpatient hospital tower, a biomedical research tower, and the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center. In parallel, the department is extending its reach through new ambulatory care centers in New Albany, Dublin, and Powell, alongside established imaging sites across the regionenhancing access, capacity, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered imaging services.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership of the educational mission of the training program, ensuring appropriate trainee milestone achievement, oversight of faculty teaching performance/role modeling, and assigning teaching faculty based on performance.Foster an effective, safe learning environment promoting an interdisciplinary healthcare team that supports education and provides high quality, effective clinical services to patients and does so in a balanced fashion.Assess fellowship quality outcome metrics both educational and patient care, while also supporting wise resource utilization and appropriate adherence to protocol and practice guidelines by trainees.Ensure the education and training of supervising physicians commensurate with their activity in OSUWMC and that trainees are provided prior supervision commensurate to skill/knowledge of trainee.Assure the Department of Radiology and OSUWMC meets the accreditation and regulatory standards of the Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and any other accrediting or regulatory bodies as may be appropriate for the corresponding subspecialty area.Lead the recruitment of exceptional trainees and collaborate with the clinical department to ensure the retention of high-performing individuals.Develop a training program that is highly regarded and recommended by peers with attention to improving program national rankings, where applicable.Encourage fellow involvement with review and implementation of clinical practice guidelines and care protocols pertinent to the training program, and ensure trainee compliance with these tools.Monitor and track the key indicators of the program's success including trainee performance, evaluation data, surveys, procedure data, faculty development, graduate performance, and program quality.In collaboration with key constituents, develop and support an educational curriculum that meets the needs of the trainees.Attend appropriate administrative meetings as necessary to ensure the success of the program, Department, and OSUWMC.Assure timely completion of documentation, including annual surveys, program updates, responses to citations/areas for improvement, training procedural data, and milestone reporting.RequirementsM.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (ABR, ABOR)Completion of Subspecialty fellowship in Thoracic Imaging by time of appointmentThree years of post-fellowship experienceMust possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of OhioCompensation Package:Salary: Commensurate with experience level, Bonus, Relocation AssistanceRetirement Benefits: 14% Employer match, Supplemental Retirement Accounts 403(b) and 457(b)Paid Time Off: 176 Hours of Annual Vacation, 120 hours of Annual Sick Time, 11 Recognized Annual Holidays, and Generous CME AllowanceExceptional health, vision, and dental benefits: Health Reimbursement Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending AccountTuition Assistance Benefits: 10 credit hours per term for faculty and staff covered, 50% of a dependent's fees per semester coveredFringe Benefits: Family Building Assistance and Benefits, Lifestyle Spending Accounts, Childcare Programs, Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness and institutional support to fulfill requirements.How to Apply To be considered, please submit cover letter and Curriculum Vita.
