Safety CoordinatorImmediate need for a talented Safety Coordinator. This is a 02 Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Carson, CA (Onsite).Job ID:26-24468 Pay Range: $36 - $44/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).Key Responsibilities:The Safety Coordinator ensures workplace safety by developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting training, and monitoring compliance.Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.Conduct safety training and drills.Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations.Investigate accidents and incidents.Maintain safety records and documentationLeads daily safety meetingsVerifies all turnaround safety processes have been fully implementedVerify receipt and quality of training documentation received e.g., forklift certificationFollows up to ensure correct actions have been implemented for any incidents and near-miss reporting.Ensures that federal, provincial, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes are observed by contractors.Assist, with plan to implement move in/out contractor safety training for employee orientation programs.Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the client's workplace during on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.Participate in the safety observation program, submit feedback, and assure documents are being submitted and tracked accordingly.Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.Compile, analyze, and interpret incident report data to develop corrective actions to eliminate risk. Assure compliance to company safety policy handbook and site-specific policies.Participate in safety walks & audits, provide positive correction advice to employees working at risk.Uphold and communicate high standards of housekeeping in assigned areas and on all job sites. Conduct frequent formal housekeeping inspections of plant areas.Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines.Works professionally and harmoniously with co-workers, supervisors, management, support personnel, program participants, and business-related persons.Utilizes positive and constructive attitude toward resolution of problems and conflicts.Accepts direction, criticism, and supervision.Demonstrates ability to remain calm in demanding situations.Ability to work within and promote a teamwork philosophy.Makes good use of time, completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.Site indoctrination requirements are:30CARSINDOTurnaround Safety OrientationThese indoctrination requirements can be acquired at:OSCA, Houston Area Safety CouncilSchedule:Work shifts will be standard work schedule with turn over meetings - max shift of 12 hours.There will be one fatigue day per every 14 days workedThe positions should be local, per diem is not approved for this position unless unable to source locally.This position will primarily be Night ShiftKey Requirements and Technology Experience:Must have skills: Safety standards, industrial safety, OSHA, Safety management, safety meetingsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field. Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.Strong organizational and communication skills.Attention to detail.Ability to conduct training and presentations.Strong organizational, interpersonal and planning skills. Strong leadership abilities.Demonstrates strong follow up skillsAbility to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to accurately perform other duties as assigned.Understands safety standards as outlined by Client.10 years of experience in Safety Coordinator role in refinery or petrochemical industryDegree in health and safety related discipline and /or hold current CSP preferredSubject matter expertise in understanding regulatory policies from OSHA, MSHA, NFPA, NEC, CGA, Alberta OHSDemonstrated expertise and commitment in applying Corporate safety policies and proceduresDemonstrated experience in site auditing, assessment, and coachingGood interpersonal, communication, training, and influence skillsMotivated Positive Safety AttitudeDemonstrated leadership skillsGood organizational and project management skills.Training and experience in incident investigationMicrosoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Power point)Our client is a leading gas and chemical manufacturing Industry and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
