Account Specialist - collections

Job Description We are seeking an individual with at least 3 years of experience with medical collections work. If this sounds like you, please read further! Our firm provides great benefits and earning potential as well as invaluable job experience.The Medical Collections Position’s Responsibilities May Include:Contacting Insurance Companies, attorneys, and debtorsCollect on past due medical claims and accountsFollow up on claimsMake calls to resolve contracting issuesGeneral account maintenance within our software programCompleting all corresponding documentationResearch claim problems and perform any required claim adjustments in a timely mannerSkills/Requirements:Two or more years of Medical Collections background; preferably some workers compensation and liability experience - must have strong knowledge of FDCPA and HIPAA regulationsPrior experience with workers compensation and liability lawsMust have insurance and medical terminology experience as well as billing /collection practicesAbility to read and interpret insurance explanation of benefits (EOB’s)Ability to accurately Identify the cause of denials and select the most appropriate method for resolutionAbility to create professional organized correspondence to patients, insurance companies and attorneysMust be able to use good oral and verbal communication with patients, insurance companies and attorneys with a professional demeanorQualifications:High School Diploma/GED requiredMinimum of 2 years related experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required basic Excel knowledge is a mustAbility to multi task in a fast-paced environment and appropriately handle overlapping commitmentsStrong accounting/math skillsAble to think quickly, assess a situation and make sound decisionsSolid written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skillsPossess excellent analytical skills and creative problem solving skillsA track record of being consistent with attendance and punctuality is a mustAbility to perform the job with integrity and values consistent with our firm’s missionCompany DescriptionSmall team oriented Law Firm.
