The Contracting Support Specialist – Basic provides foundational pre-award and post-award contracting support to AMIC contracting officers, executing standardized acquisition and contract administration tasks. This role supports document preparation, contract file maintenance, and administrative processing in accordance with FAR requirements and established acquisition timelines, contributing to efficient cradle-to-grave contract execution.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, law, economics, public administration, or related discipline
Minimum 3 years of experience as a contracting specialist within a federal government organization
Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), specifically Parts 5, 6, 12, 13, 15, and 19
Experience supporting simplified acquisitions and commercial item procurements
Proficiency in contract closeout processes and brand name justifications
Experience with contract writing, filing, and tracking systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Experience with WAWF, SharePoint, and records management systems (or equivalent)
DAWIA Level II Contracting Certification or Back-to-Basics Contracting Professional Certification (or equivalent)
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting Air Force or AMIC contracting environments
Familiarity with contract administration modules such as PIEE, JAM, or SPM
Experience supporting invoice resolution and DFAS coordination
Strong time management and workload tracking skills
Exposure to contract discrepancy resolution and COR coordination processes
