As part of our team, your opportunities are limitless.ResponsibilitiesThe Estimator is responsible for pre-construction planning, pre-bid attendance, bid management, and estimating activities.In addition, you will:Create, obtain, and evaluate all documents/data required for bidding, including specifications, scopes of work, architectural documents, site plans, soils reports, community guidelines, and all other pertinent documents that affect all costs of constructionWork with suppliers, subcontractors, etc., in conjunction with Construction Managers, to facilitate bids, takeoffs, pricing, and proposalsWork with architects, drafters, and engineers as required, to ensure building plans are accurately documentedParticipate in value engineering efforts and identify areas for improvementDocument estimating and pre-construction activities, and keep team members informedMaintain RFI log and bid contact log for projectsWork collaboratively with the construction team to ensure the scopes of work for each trade are clearly understood and adhered to by subcontractorsResearch and pre-qualify new vendors, subcontractors, and suppliersAdministrative duties to field incoming calls, email, and other correspondenceCreate and manage project filesManage and update the online project management systemMaintain subcontractor contact records for potential vendors and subcontractorsEnsure company procedures and internal control requirements are metOther duties as assignedQualificationsAbout You:Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, preferredMinimum 3 years of experience in estimating/pre-constructionExperience and knowledge of construction industry practices, materials, methods involved, and the purchasing of services and suppliesMust be proficient with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.Must be proficient in internet search techniques and online researchDetail-oriented and organized Understanding of construction and designAbility to read and understand building plans, scopes of work, specifications, and other construction documentsAbility to manage multiple projects at the same timeAbility to work independently or as a member of a teamHard work pays off.
