Forensic Engineer
BURBY LLC is dedicated to providing high-level solutions throughout Florida, specializing in structural & forensic engineering, litigation support, repair & restoration, and building envelope/construction consulting. We are currently seeking a talented Forensic Engineer to join our growing team. This position will play an integral role consulting on and evaluating litigated matters related to construction defect claims.Job Responsibilities:Conduct forensic investigations to analyze and determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water intrusion, roof damage, construction defects, and building envelope failures.Research technical publications and literature in support of evaluations, and apply engineering principles and practices in accordance with codes and industry standards.Draft and oversee the preparation of technical reports.Develop scope of work for forensic inspections and testing protocols for construction defect claims.Attend destructive testing or repairs set by other parties. Must be comfortable working from ladders, roofs, swing stages, scaffolding, and lifts.Manage multiple projects and assume responsibility for project execution within given deadlines.Collaborate and review work with colleagues.Communicate with administrative staff and clients to provide project updates on a consistent basis.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required. Master’s degree preferred.PE License.General Contractor (CGC) or Roofing Contractor (CCC) license a plus.Experience in engineering design/construction.Experience with building envelope components.Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and manage assignments.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE.Benefits include:Health insurancePaid time offFlexible working environmentProfessional development assistance401K plan
