Embedded Systems/Hardware Solutions Architect

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working cross-functionally to understand architecture needs by multiple business units. To be effective in this position, you must feel comfortable owning the entire architecture development process from inception to completion.  ResponsibilitiesDesign custom, manufacture-ready PCBs (Schematic, Layout, Routing, DRC, DFM, IPC norms) against client requirements using JLCPCB workflow. Using softwares like KiCad or EasyEDA ProRead and analyze electronic component datasheetsDesign and simulate (if required) power electronics circuits for different use cases like battery powered or outlet powered devices. Design linear or switching regulators and battery chargersExperience in low power solutions both from hardware component selection and firmware deep sleep strategiesKnowledge of motor controllers (BDC and BLDC) and H-bridge topologiesDevelop custom embedded firmware (C/C++, ESP-IDF/FreeRTOS, Arduino/PlatformIO IDE and PlatformIO Remote Development Tools) tailored to product-specific constraints using software development practices like separation of concerns and version control (Git)Knowledge of Embedded Systems Peripherals like UART, SPI and I2CKnowledge of Object Oriented Programming (Inheritance, Interfaces, Dependency Injection…) and Software Architecture Principles (Design Patterns)Design and implement UI interfaces using MCU frameworks like LVGL and Nextion InterfacesUse tools like oscilloscope, logic analyzers, multimeters and power profilers to debug and test devicesArchitect IoT solutions spanning wireless connectivity (BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE) and cloud backends (AWS IoT Core, Lambda, DynamoDB) for use cases like secure OTA updates and device telemetry. Knowledge of IoT connectivity providers like Thinger or UbidotsInteract with different areas like mobile development and industrial design to ensure cross-functional integration for developed PCBs and firmwareRemote hardware/firmware troubleshooting across distributed lab sites. Ability to troubleshoot devices on remote deploymentsTrain and deploy edge AI/TinyML models (Edge Impulse, TFLite Micro) on MCU-class hardware for sensor classification and keyword spotting use casesAbility to perform R&D efforts in electronics and embedded systemsNice to have:Knowledge of STM32, Nordic Semiconductor MCUs and Zephyr RTOSRF antenna design for 2.4 GHz bandExperience working in R&D teams, handling of technical uncertainty and excellent communication skillsKnowledge of Python for backend and data science use casesExperience using AI tools to aid research efforts and coding agents (Codex, Claude Code)QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related engineering discipline.B.S. in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or closely related field.Equivalent professional experience may be considered.2+ years' of relevant experienceStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills
