Swim Instructor

Swim Instructor PositionSwim Instructors are responsible for providing members with a high-quality experience to all ages and skill levels in a positive, safe, fun, and engaging environment. This position focuses on building swimming skills, teaching water safety, and gaining confidence in the water. Instructors will lead their own private lessons during two separate sessions in the summer with classes being scheduled anywhere between 8:30am and 10:30am. The lesson slots are 30 minutes long and are selected by the members, requiring instructors to be very organized and flexible.Essential Job Functions:Thoroughly plan and deliver swim lessons tailored to skill level and age groups.Teach water safety skills and proper swimming techniquesEnsure the safety of all participants by continuing to enforce pool rules and supervisionBe able to adapt lesson plans based on the swimmers needs, abilities and progressCommunicate professionally and clearly with members, parents, and supervisors.Maintain a fun and positive attitude to ensure a good learning environment.Track all attendance and participation progress throughout every single session/lesson.Arrive early to ensure you are ready and have equipment set upCleaning equipment up after lessonsRespond to emergencies appropriately and follow all safety protocolsCollaborate with other staff to ensure smooth daily operations every dayRequirements:Hold a current Lifeguard Certification OR a Swim Instructor CertificationStrong swimming abilities and knowledge of the water safety practicesAbility to work Mon-Fri during two separate five-week sessionsExperience working with children, pools and/or teaching preferredHolding strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to continuously remain alert, attentive, and responsible in the pool environmentReliable, punctual, and able to work as both part of a team and individuallyExpected Pay: COMMISSION (Approximately $30 per lesson at 35 minute sessions)
