You'll help ensure engineering drawings, submittals, and project documentation remain organized, accurate, and compliant with company and client standards.You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and project teams while learning engineering documentation processes, revision control standards, and project workflows.Execute document control procedures and organize project files and engineering documentationPrepare engineering submittal and transmittal packages including stamping, scanning, indexing, and distributionLog, track, and route engineering drawings through internal review workflowsMaintain drawing registers, engineering folders, and electronic project librariesOrganize technical documentation and project records in accordance with company standardsSupport engineering teams by gathering redlines and updating document metadataPerform quality checks to ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and formatting complianceAssist with file management across shared platforms such as SharePoint, ShareFile, Procore, and FusionTrack documentation status using project schedules, trackers, and distribution matricesMaintain organized project files and engineering contact listsParticipate in team meetings and drawing reviews to learn engineering documentation workflowsUse Microsoft Office and PDF tools such as Bluebeam for markup and document managementFollow engineering safety, compliance, and data protection protocols while maintaining accurate recordsWhat You BringMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required0–2 years of experience in document control, engineering support, office administration, or a similar roleProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to follow structured processes and maintain accurate recordsStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering teamsPreferred QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Drafting, Paralegal Studies, or related fieldExperience in engineering, construction, utilities, or project-based environmentsFamiliarity with PDF editing tools such as Bluebeam RevuExposure to engineering document management platforms (SharePoint, Procore, ShareFile, etc.)Coursework or certifications related to document control or records managementAmpirical is an Equal Opportunity Employer, meaning we do not discriminate based on the following characteristics in our hiring and employment practices: Age, sex, color, race, creed, national origin, religion or religious attire, marital status, pregnancy (child birth or related medical conditions), citizenship status or amnesty, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, genetic information, sickle-cell trait, status as a tobacco user or non-user, or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
