Security System Technician

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Security System Technician to join our team. We will also train. As a Security Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing intrusion detection, access control and fire prevention systems; various alarm and surveillance devices and related equipment, with ability to follow blueprints of layouts and building plans (as needed). Ensure work is in accordance with relevant codes. Duties: - Trouble-shoot and repair security systems (identify, locate and repair problems). - Ability to test and inspect existing system equipment, including wiring, voltage, batteries and communication (signal strength) with Central Monitoring Station. - Install security, access control, fire and camera systems with a high-degree of excellence, ensuring all components are in working order and aesthetically pleasing to the customer. Gain a solid understanding and appreciation of pre-wiring, mounting and fastening various security devices with proper technique, programming control panels, code changes and networking. - Greet and interact with customers onsite in a friendly and professional manner. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain the use of products or services. - Complete necessary documentation and paperwork in a timely manner, noting details such as: equipment and inventory used, placement of various components, photos as needed, hours on the job, and whether follow-up is needed. - Maintain a high degree of quality control while onsite, using proper installation and safety techniques. - Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle. Requirements: - Builds effective relationships and collaborates with peers across the organization. Openly communicates, provides timely feedback and shares ideas. - Maintains high level of professionalism and represents TECC Security Systems, Inc. as an industry leader to customers, suppliers, competitors and colleagues. - Preferred 2-3 years working in the alarm industry (or relatable field). - Knowledge of some, or all, of the following: Intrusion, Fire and Access Systems, Camera Systems, IP Networking, with NFPA codes a plus. - Ability to effectively use hand and power tools. - Excellent customer service skills. - Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. - Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
