Healthy Harvest Corps- ColumbusThe Ohio Association of Foodbanks (OAF) represents Ohio's 12 Feeding America foodbanks and their 3,600 member hunger relief programs, serving food insecure Ohioans in all 88 counties. OAF will host 25 AmeriCorps members serving at 9 host sites throughout Ohio. Deploying AmeriCorps direct service members at local and regional hunger relief agencies will support a coordinated statewide effort to improve health by getting healthy food into the homes of food insecure Ohioans. Summer positions will focus on promoting fresh produce among youth populations. This position is located at Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) in Grove City, a suburb of Columbus. MOFC is Ohio's largest food bank and a leading force in the fight against hunger, serving 20 counties through a network of more than 600 partner agencies. Our mission extends beyond food distribution - we are committed to ending hunger one nourishing meal at a time while co-creating communities where everyone thrives. MOFC operates five assets: Mid-Ohio Foodbank, Mid-Ohio Markets, Mid-Ohio Farm, Mid-Ohio Farmacy, and Mid-Ohio Kitchen. Together, these programs provide fresh food distribution, grocery-style markets, urban farming, nutrition-integrated healthcare, and prepared meals. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.Member Duties : AmeriCorps Members will support healthy food access and nutrition education initiatives. Members will lead interactive, youth-friendly culinary demonstrations featuring fresh, seasonal produce and assists with youth field trips and agriculture-based learning. On the urban farm, responsibilities include planting, harvesting, maintaining hydroponic systems, and supporting farm development projects. In the kitchen, the member assists with meal preparation and service for Kid's Café, ensuring food safety, quality standards, and accurate production. The role also supports meal packing, delivery logistics, and USDA program compliance.
