Software Development ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a team responsible for designing, building and delivering high-quality software solutions. The role combines technical leadership, people management and project delivery oversight with a focus on C#, Angular and SQL-based applications. The manager will drive engineering best practices, mentor engineers, coordinate with product and QA, and ensure on-time delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment. Candidates with an active security clearance or prior experience as a Software Engineering Manager are highly desirable.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, coach and grow a cross-functional development team focused on C#, Angular and SQL technologies.Own delivery of software projects end-to-end: planning, architecture guidance, implementation, testing and deployment.Drive technical decisions and code quality through architecture reviews, design patterns and regular code reviews.Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps and stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize backlog and ensure clear acceptance criteria.Implement and continuously improve Agile/Scrum processes, sprint planning, estimations and retrospectives.Mentor engineers on career development, conduct performance reviews and support hiring to build a strong team.Establish and monitor engineering metrics (velocity, quality, incidents) to improve predictability and delivery.Ensure secure development practices, compliance with policies, and coordination with security teams when required.Manage risks, resolve impediments, and escalate issues to ensure project milestones are met.Promote a culture of ownership, continuous learning and high engineering standards.QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.8+ years of hands-on software development experience with strong applied knowledge of C#, Angular and SQL.2+ years of people management or technical lead experience, preferably managing multiple engineers.Proven experience delivering web applications built with Angular or similar front-end frameworks.Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: design patterns, testing, version control and CI/CD.Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum environments; ability to run planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.Ability to provide hands-on technical leadership while balancing managerial responsibilities.Nice-to-have: active Security Clearance or eligibility, prior role as a Software Engineering Manager, hands-on background as a Software Engineer, Scrum Master or relevant SCRUM certification, and familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices.BenefitsCompetitive compensationFull health benefits (medical, dental, vision)401k w/matchGenerous PTOLife and disability insuranceEmployee assistanceBonusesMuch more!
