Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our culinary operations. This role is vital in ensuring the delivery of exceptional food service, maintaining high standards of food safety, and leading a team of dietary aides and kitchen staff. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the dietary department team, including dietary aides and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth daily operations
Oversee menu planning, ensuring variety, nutritional balance, and adherence to dietary guidelines
Coordinate food preparation and cooking processes to deliver high-quality meals efficiently
Maintain strict food safety standards through proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
Assist in meal preparation and food service activities, demonstrating excellent knife skills and culinary techniques
Ensure compliance with all food industry regulations and health codes during catering, serving, and kitchen activities
Support training initiatives to enhance team skills in food handling, cooking, and customer service
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Requirements
Proven experience in dietary departments or similar food service settings with a focus on meal preparation and kitchen operations
Strong background in dietary aide responsibilities combined with restaurant or fine dining experience
Expertise in menu planning, food handling, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
Demonstrated skills in food industry standards including catering, serving, and kitchen management
Excellent knife skills with the ability to prepare diverse meals efficiently
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
Previous experience in culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable
Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
