Team members have the opportunity to work on complex engagements in a collaborative professional environment.The Tax Manager plays a critical leadership role within Weber & Company, Inc., serving as the entry-level member of the Firm’s management team. This role is responsible for overseeing complex tax engagements, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance, mentoring Senior and Staff Accountants, and supporting the Firm’s commitment to high-quality client service, professionalism, and continued growth. Tax Managers are expected to exercise sound judgment, apply advanced technical expertise, and collaborate closely with Partners to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Oversee and review complex individual, corporate, fiduciary, and estate tax returns, including high-net-worth and multi-entity clients.Perform and supervise advanced tax research, analysis, and planning, including federal, state, and tax matters.Serve as a primary reviewer on engagements, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and adherence to Firm standards.Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to Senior and Staff Accountants.Manage engagement workflows, deadlines, and resource allocation in coordination with Partners and Senior Managers.Communicate directly with clients and professional advisors regarding tax issues, planning strategies, and compliance matters.Support transactional and strategic tax planning initiatives.Interact with taxing authorities and regulatory agencies as needed.Contribute to process improvements, technical knowledge sharing, and best practices within the Firm.Demonstrate a commitment to the Firm’s values, long-term growth, and professional excellence.Performs other related duties as assigned by management.Required Qualifications:Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credentialMinimum of 8+ years of public accounting or equivalent experienceDemonstrated expertise in complex tax compliance and planningStrong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulationsProven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staffExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Taxation or AccountingProgress toward or completion of advanced tax certifications beyond CPA or EACore Competencies/Skills:Advanced technical tax knowledge and research capabilitiesStrong organizational and project management skillsHigh attention to detail and quality controlAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesProfessional judgment and problem-solving skillsCollaborative leadership style and strong interpersonal skillsProficiency with tax and accounting software (e.g., Lacerte, QuickBooks, PM, CaseWare, KiteWorks, BNA, and Microsoft Office)Physical RequirementsAbility to perform the essential functions of the position in an office environment, including prolonged periods of computer and desk work, with or without reasonable accommodation.May occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 15 pounds.Work Location & ScheduleThis position is based out of our San Jose, California office. Hybrid work arrangements may be available depending on the position, employee performance, business needs, and operational requirements.Work schedules may vary throughout the year based on client demands, project deadlines, and peak business periods. Additional hours may occasionally be required, including during tax season and other high-volume periods.Occasional travel to client sites or other business-related locations may be required.Compensation & BenefitsWeber & Company, Inc. offers competitive compensation designed to recognize experience, technical expertise, professional certifications, and overall contributions to the firm.
