SMT Set Up Technician

Job DetailsJob LocationSolon, OHDescriptionSUMMARYThe SMT Setup technician works with surface mount technology (SMT) equipment to develop, maintain, and optimize programs for circuit board assembly.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesReading and understanding documentation, drawings, bills of material and processes and then translating this information into the product.Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, enter data, and/or process information.Setting up SMT production equipment and machinery.Pull a kit from the dry room Request a setup sheet, printed by an SMT operatorFollow the setup sheet for loading based on part numberDetermine what feeder size is requiredDetermine what slot it needs to go intoLoad the feeder per the above instructionsWhen complete place into the correct SMT line staging areaTeardown of equipmentOne job at a time, unload the reels from the feeders Place all reels back into the kit box they were received inPlace the unloaded kit on the kits to return to stock shelfMaintaining production or work records.Marking and tagging components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.Attaching or marking identification onto products and/or containers.Cleaning and maintaining work area and equipment.Other duties as assignedQualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalentTechnical certification or Associate’s degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering is preferredAt least one year of experience working in an electronic manufacturing environment.Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and/or AS9100Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for long periods of timeFrequent stooping, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling and liftingAbility to use close vision and distance vision
