CAM Engineer
Columbia Elevator is looking for a skilled Engineer to join our dynamic team. The CAM Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programs to support the production of precision elevator door components. This role focuses on ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing processes. The CAM Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to translate design specifications into production-ready plans while continuously improving manufacturing processes and tooling.
Responsabilities
Develop and maintain CAM programs to support the production of elevator door components.
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure the manufacturability of new designs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programming, tooling, and machine setup.
Conduct process optimization for efficiency improvements, including cycle time reduction and quality enhancement.
Implement process changes and introduce new technologies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Coordinate with production to ensure accurate implementation of CAM programs and address issues as they arise.
Ensure adherence to safety standards, company policies, and quality control measures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
3-5 years of experience in CAM programming and manufacturing, preferably in a small to mid-sized manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CAM software (Mastercam, SolidCAM, or similar).
Solid understanding of CNC machinery, tooling, and machining processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Effective communication skills.
