Department: Machine ShopReports To: Department ManagerPhysical Demand Level: Medium to HeavyFLSA Status (US only): Non-ExemptSummaryThe Machine Operator I is responsible for performing the essential manufacturing steps of part trimming and drilling, meeting daily production needs in manufacturing quality parts.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis role does not have supervisory responsibilities.Essential Duties & Key ResponsibilitiesMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Trim plated parts to print specifications utilizing manual and programmable Lathes.Core drill parts using equipment including manual drill presses, lathes and programmable HAAS Drilling machinesProgram HAAS machines for drilling operations.Performs preventative maintenance including fluid changes, lubrication and cleaning of machines when needed/directed by the Lead / SupervisorAccurately record production information on paper travellers and in the ERP systemMaintains a clean machine and organized work area.Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of partsUse measuring equipment to maintain close tolerancesFollows schedules and proceduresAdaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-trainingSees that all safety guards are in place and in good conditionAssists other operators if necessaryInspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions.
