Medical Records Clerk Full-Time | Columbus, NEPosition Summary The Medical Records Clerk plays a key role in supporting patient care by ensuring medical records are accurate, secure, and accessible. This position is responsible for managing the release of information, maintaining electronic health records (EHR), and supporting third-party billing processes while ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.What You'll Do Process and fulfill medical record requests in compliance with regulations and organizational policiesEnsure proper authorization and documentation for all releases of informationScan, index, and organize patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) systemAudit records for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentationMaintain tracking systems to ensure compliance and timely processingProtect patient information by following HIPAA, PHI, and PII best practicesSubmit progress notes and documentation to referring providers as neededFile correspondence, lab results, and other documentation appropriately in the EHRIdentify and resolve missing or incomplete recordsAnswer incoming calls and assist with medical records-related inquiriesCollaborate with internal teams and external healthcare partnersPerform additional duties as assignedWhat You'll Bring Required:High School Diploma or equivalentStrong organizational and time management skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage confidential information responsiblyProficiency in Microsoft Office or related softwareAbility to work independently and take initiativeStrong communication skills and ability to work with diverse populationsPreferred:1+ year of medical records or office experienceKnowledge of basic medical terminologyExperience in a clinic, hospital, or healthcare settingBilingual skillsWork Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily sedentary with extended periods of sittingOccasional bending, lifting, and reachingAbility to lift up to 35 lbs as neededFrequent use of office equipment (computer, phone, copier)Why Join Us?
