It addresses the challenge of managing large-scale data workloads efficiently without compromising developer experience. The platform supports both PostgreSQL and Vitess clusters, the latter being an open-source system for horizontally scaling MySQL databases. The organization is extending this scalability to PostgreSQL through a product called Neki, a sharded PostgreSQL system. It serves high-demand applications, processing millions of queries per second, and is recognized for rapid growth and profitability.2. About the Opportunity:The Software Engineer - Sharded Postgres (Neki) will contribute to developing a scalable sharded PostgreSQL solution from the ground up. This role is integral to designing and implementing critical systems that power the organization''s database platform. The position involves collaborating with engineering experts to tackle complex distributed system challenges and working autonomously to solve technical and business problems. The engineer will also engage directly with customers to align technical solutions with their needs.3. Responsibilities:Develop the Neki sharded Postgres solution.Design and build systems that support high-volume query processing.Collaborate with expert engineers on distributed systems challenges.Work independently with minimal supervision.Interface with customers to translate requirements into technical solutions.4. Requirements:Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience focused on backend systems or database technologies.Proficiency in Go programming language; experience with Python or C++ is beneficial.Experience in developing and operating PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar databases.Background in building and managing distributed systems at scale.5.
