Direct Support Professional (DSP) Support Services- Baltimore County
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to an individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Personal Support Services professionals assist individuals and families living in their personal home.Individual programs are designed around the needs and desires of each participant and implemented with attention and care. Whether living alone or with family members, individually tailored services are the best way to support people on their own terms.Services provided are personalized and directed by the individual receiving supports and may include but are not limited to: assistance with personal hygiene, activities/outings, social engagement, and shopping.Paid trainings, including CPR/First AidDSP's assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by:• Assisting with participation and exploration of the community• Cultivating and expanding independent living skills• Assisting with development of meaningful and personal relationships• Implementing strategies to achieve individuals' personal goalsEligible candidates must have a high school degree/GED and a current driver's license with less than three points on their driving record.The hours for this position: Wed, Thurs and Fri 9am-6pm (27 hours/ week)Support needed for a young woman in the Pikesville area. Assist with following a daily routine and trying new activities. Work on skills at home including preparing small meals, baking, puzzles, crafts, dancing, walking, and other activities. Loves jewelry and "girly things" including doing her hair and picking out accessories for the day. Work up to trying activities in the community as desired. Ability to develop and follow a daily structure and routine preferred; energetic and active.This position requires the use of personal vehicle to provide transportation within the community.This position requires the use of personal cell phone for mobile punching and documentation.
