Maintenance Technician
Industrial Maintenance TechnicianThis role focuses on maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment in a fast-paced yard environment. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, support safe and efficient operations, and assist with general labor tasks as needed. The position requires working an afternoon/evening shift and supporting weekend operations when required.ResponsibilitiesFollow all company and OSHA safety procedures at all times.Attend safety meetings and actively participate in the safety program.Perform daily inspections on industrial machinery and equipment, documenting conditions and reporting defects or needed repairs to a supervisor.Move, assemble, install, and dismantle machinery and equipment as operational needs require.Operate forklifts and skid steers safely and efficiently to support yard and production activities.Conduct visual inspections of equipment to identify repair needs and assist with mechanical and electrical repairs.Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.Perform general labor duties, including sweeping, shoveling, and general clean-up of any area and equipment throughout the yard.Communicate effectively over radio with teammates to coordinate traffic, production activities, and safety procedures.Cross-train in other tasks and assist teammates in different areas as needed.Use basic math and computer skills to complete maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) while working or while in the yard.Adapt to changing priorities and perform other duties as assigned by management.Essential SkillsHands-on experience with industrial maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment using electrical and mechanical diagnostic methods.Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and working with PLC-controlled equipment.Experience with electrical troubleshooting, including 3-phase power systems.Familiarity with Allen-Bradley controls and related industrial control components.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.Capability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery.Skill in operating a forklift and/or skid steer safely.Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.Flexibility to handle changing tasks and priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.Commitment to wearing and maintaining all required PPE at all times in the yard.Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt to new processes, and work independently when needed.Self-motivated approach with a strong sense of responsibility for equipment reliability and safety.Comfort working with industrial equipment, PLC controls, and related technologies.Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Allentown, PA.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
