We are seeking a Software Engineer – Backend to join our Labs team. This is an individual contributor role for engineers with strong backend foundations in Python.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build scalable backend systems to support AI/ML applications and servicesWork closely with AI/ML scientists and engineers to productionize models and pipelinesDevelop and maintain APIs and microservices for AI-driven applicationsBuild robust data pipelines and backend infrastructure to handle large-scale data processingEnsure performance, reliability, and scalability of AI backend systemsDeploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)Collaborate across teams to translate AI prototypes into production-ready systemsRequired QualificationsStrong experience in Python backend development (FastAPI/Django preferred)Solid understanding of building APIs and microservices architecturesExperience working with databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis)Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or AzureFamiliarity with deploying and scaling distributed systemsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldPreferred QualificationsExperience working with AI/ML systems or data-intensive applicationsUnderstanding of model deployment, inference pipelines, or MLOps conceptsFamiliarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, research-driven environmentExperience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaborationWhy Join OptymWork on high-impact problems for global clients.Collaborate with world-class experts in optimization and AI.Opportunity to see your algorithms deployed at scale in real operations.Innovative culture, flexible environment, and strong growth potential.We follow a hybrid model where we work from office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
