Assistant SupervisorMaintain a safe and secure environment while ensuring proper operations of equipment. This position will also include leading employees to meet the organization's expectations and goals while planning, evaluating, and improving the efficiency of the business.Essential Functions:Maintain compliance to all federal, state, local regulationsDetail oriented with good follow through skills.Ensure operations of equipment and people.Provide needed resources and training for all personnel.Work closely with quality and safety coordinators, enforce company policies, Communicate with supervisor on a continuous basis along with operational updates.Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunitiesCompetencies:Customer relations skills.Demonstrable supervisory and leadership skills.Ability to work efficiently in a multi-tasking, time-sensitive, fast-paced environment.Initiative.Problem-solving ability.Stress tolerance.Planning ability and excellent communication skills.Supervisory Responsibility:This position has no direct reports.Work Environment:This job is a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office, production setting, outdoor/indoor shop environment or enclosed vehicle with adequate ventilation and protection from extreme weatherPhysical Demands:Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative or production/technical nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday on a day shift. This position may require overtime.Travel:This position does not require travel requirementsRequired Education and Experience:Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Minimum education and experience:Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalencyBasic knowledge of HR regulations and functionsPreferred Education and Experience:Experience supervising unionized workforce preferred.Some knowledge of HR regulations and functions.Initiative for learning and understanding Safety, HR, Union, Federal & State Laws & RegulationsWork Authorization/Security Clearance:Must be able to obtain TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Credential).Must have a valid Driver's License.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
