DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Recreation Manager for Gymnastics, leads, instructs, guides, and monitors progress of all participants in the gymnastic programs.RequirementsJOB SUMMARYUnder the supervision of the Recreation Manager for Gymnastics, leads, instructs, guides, and monitors progress of all participants in the gymnastic programs.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING• Must be at least 16 years old• Previous gymnastic instructor experience desired• Lead instructor experience preferred• Must have CPR/AED & Safety Certification or willing to be certifiedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES• Ability to organize and lead gymnastics classes• Ability to tactfully discuss gymnasts behaviors with participant and/or parent• Comprehension of gymnastics skills and techniques• An understanding of the principles of customer service• Excellent oral & written communication skills• Working knowledge of basic computer programsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Teach gymnastics classes• Record the progress of each gymnast• Complete daily safety equipment check list• Organize each class or events equipment needs for set up and take down.• Assist in the planning and execution of the gymnastics exhibition• Assist in marketing and promoting the gymnastics program• Serve in a professional and courteous manner with the highest regard to the customer• Attend staff meetings and trainings.• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Gymnastics Manager or Coordinator• Abide by the Bolingbrook Park District dress code for your area• Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District's safety program.• Be a Team Player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departmentsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSSeeing: to observe program quality and instructors and to set up gymSitting: to use computer and for meetingsLifting: to move equipment and supplies and to set-up and take down for activities.Reaching: to move supplies and equipment, to show movements and techniquesPulling: to move supplies and equipment.Pushing: to move supplies and equipment.Crouching: while leading activities, picking up supplies, and looking under equipment.Writing: to complete required reports and communicate with the gymnastics instructors and Recreation Manager.COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONSMust have the ability to plan, organize and lead gymnastics classes.
