If this sounds like you, then we want you on our team.A Brief OverviewThe DC Planner, Wave & Flow plays a dual and highly critical role in driving operational success within the distribution center. This position is responsible for both wave planning (compiling and releasing orders based on customer requirements and building capacity) and flow management (ensuring that work is released, routed, and processed efficiently and accurately throughout the facility). The Planner must balance strategic scheduling with real-time execution, while maintaining open communication across departments to prevent delays and meet service-level expectations.Leadership ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have people leadership responsibilities.What You'll DoPlan, release, and monitor order waves based on customer SLAs, workload capacity, and outbound deadlines to ensure operational balance and timely order fulfillment.Manage real-time flow of cartons and cases across departments, ensuring accurate routing, timely release of work, and smooth transitions between areas.Research and resolve delayed, missing, or misrouted items; address bottlenecks and operational challenges to avoid service failures.Maintain open communication with supervisors, leads, and associates to coordinate daily priorities, align workloads, and resolve issues as they arise.Analyze, group, and organize orders to optimize processing efficiency while aligning with shipping and transportation schedules.Provide feedback to leadership, support data-driven decision-making, and contribute ideas for process optimization and operational efficiency.Ensure that orders are processed correctly, staged properly, and meet all company and customer quality standards.Track wave progress, monitor building flow metrics, and report delays, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement to leadership.Adheres to all company policies and proceduresEmbodies and demonstrates company ethics and valuesAbides by all federal, state and local lawsHow You'll Be SuccessfulAbility to develop and write clear and concise processes and proceduresAbility to exercise independent judgment, think critically and work well in cross-functional teamsStrong leadership and influencing skills; ability to engage at all levels of internal and external organizationsSelf-starter with a great research skills who can develop effective networks with internal and external customersAbility to identify issues, engage in collaborative projects, strategic thinking, design creative solutions, and provide practical consultation to ensure the import/export compliance program supports business objectivesStrong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated through reporting and presentations in a business contextKnowledge of Warehouse Management Order processing systems, inventory management and merchandising practicesManual dexterity required: Must be able to use hands to finger; handle, feel and type; reach with hands and armsMust be able to see, hear, speak and read in order to communicate with other employees and/or other customersMust be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb ladders, some liftingMust be able to countMust be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds without assistanceVision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusWhat You'll NeedH.S.
