Project Manager, Flooring Division
Role SummaryThe Project Manager - Flooring Division leads commercial flooring projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on floor leveling, polished concrete, and epoxy systems. This role is responsible for estimating, contract management, scheduling, cost control, and project execution. The PM has ultimate authority in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to project specifications. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams and plays a key role in supporting repeat business and division growth.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & ExecutionManage all phases of flooring construction projects from initial bidding through final closeoutDevelop project schedules, coordinate workflows, and ensure timely completion of all deliverablesMonitor project progress and proactively address challenges to keep projects on trackCoordinate closely with field teams to ensure alignment between planning and executionOwn and manage the overall project schedule, including identifying risks and mitigating potential delaysPreconstruction & EstimatingPrepare accurate cost estimates for floor leveling, polished concrete, and epoxy flooring projectsReview surveys and project documents to determine material quantities, including floor leveling (bag counts)Develop detailed scopes of work and validate project requirementsIdentify cost risks and assumptions during the estimating processContract & Document Review* Review and interpret contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure full understanding of scope, identify risks or gaps, and communicate findings proactively to stakeholdersFinancial ManagementOwn the financial performance of each project including budgeting, cost tracking, and forecastingEnsure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality and profitabilityManage and negotiate change orders to protect project marginsReview and approve invoices, change orders, and cost reportsProcurement & Resource ManagementOversee the procurement of materials and equipmentEnsure timely delivery and availability of resources to support project schedulesCoordinate with subcontractors and vendors as neededEnsure materials and equipment align with project specifications and timelinesClient & Stakeholder CommunicationServe as the primary point of contact for clients, internal teams, architects, and site superintendentsMaintain clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycleProvide regular updates on project status, risks, and milestonesBusiness DevelopmentSupport business development efforts by building and maintaining client relationshipsIdentify new project opportunities within the flooring divisionContribute to strategic growth initiatives and repeat business opportunitiesQualifications5+ years of construction project management experience (flooring or specialty trades preferred)Knowledge of floor leveling, polished concrete, epoxy flooring, and floor preparationStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to read and interpret drawings and specificationsStrong problem-solving and conflict resolution skillsWho You AreDetail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects at onceA proactive communicator who keeps teams aligned and informedA problem-solver who takes ownership and drives issues to resolutionComfortable working primarily in an office environment, with occasional site visits and involvement in business developmentMotivated to take ownership of projects and see them through from start to finishWhat Success Looks LikeProjects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of qualityEstimates are accurate and competitive, contributing to successful bid outcomesClients and partners experience clear communication and strong project leadershipProject risks are identified early and managed effectivelyThe flooring division continues to grow through strong relationships and repeat business
