As the external trade compliance environment evolves, Mattson Technology now operates independently from the parent company in product, business, and operations, serving customers outside of China.The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering leads a team responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and supporting new product introductions. This role partners closely with operations, quality, and design engineering to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and with high quality.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and techniciansDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologiesOversee manufacturing process design, validation, and documentationSupport new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring manufacturability (DFM/DFA)Identify and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunitiesCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, and R&DPartner with maintenance and production teams to resolve process issues and minimize downtimeEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirementsAnalyze production data and KPIs to drive data-based decision-makingManage capital equipment projects including planning, budgeting, and executionDevelop and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production methods.Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action activities for manufacturing and quality issues.Establish and maintain SOPs, work instructions, PFMEA, control plans, and process documentation.Support automation and smart manufacturing initiatives where applicable.Monitor manufacturing performance including throughput, yield, scrap reduction, cycle time, and OEE.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field)7–10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience3+ years of experience leading teams or projectsStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., assembly, machining, automation)Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement toolsPreferred:Master’s degree in Engineering or MBASix Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)Experience in high-volume or highly regulated industries (e.g., medical device, aerospace, semiconductor)Skills & CompetenciesLeadership and team developmentStrategic thinking and problem-solvingStrong project management capabilitiesData analysis and process optimizationEffective communication and stakeholder managementChange management and influence
