Typically works at a workbench or on a conveyer line. Common tasks include checking, sorting, packaging, labeling, pasting, sniping, tying, or trimming either manually or by machine. Performs basic equipment adjustments, routine maintenance, and cleaning. May perform miscellaneous jobs such as moving assemblies/machines or cleaning floors. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision. Typical job titles include: General Labor, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer, Assembler and Line Operator.Position SummaryOperate machinery to make power cable and prepare for shipping to customer.Essential Job FunctionsReview documentation/work ordersSet up machinery/processes in Tower, pay off and take up areas (assigned area)Operate machinery in the assigned areaClean and reassemble machinery in the assigned areaMonitor controls, materials, and processes in the assigned areaMonitor the quality of productionLoad / replace materials in the assigned areaChange out the product and splice the product for continued productionRepair machinery and prepare components for machines in assigned areaCoordinate other repairs with maintenance and engineeringOperate power moving devices, change propane cylindersCommunicate with supervisorDirect helpersDocument processesAbility to work independently and as part of a team.Education, Experience and Knowledge QualificationsExperience in the wire & cable industry a plus but not required.High school degree required.Read/use precision gauges and tools.Perform shop math.Read/follow written instructions.Use a computer for simple tasks.Strong focus on teamworkSkills and Abilities Qualifications and Other RequirementsPosition requires individuals with proven mechanical aptitude.
