Job Description Qualifications:Required QualificationsCurrently enrolled and in good academic standingJunior-level undergraduate or graduate student (or equivalent experience)Available to work full-time, daytime hours from MayAugust 2026Able to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing/production environmentProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skillsSelf-starter with a proactive, continuous-improvement mindsetPrevious industrial/manufacturing experience is a plusResponsibilities:Position DescriptionSaint-Gobains manufacturing site in Wheatfield, NY is seeking an Engineering Intern/Co-op for a full-time Summer 2026 assignment (MayAugust).This is a hands-on opportunity to build practical manufacturing experience while partnering with production, quality, and engineering teams.Your primary project will be to create, standardize, and document shop-floor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that help teams work safely, consistently, and efficiently.What youll doDevelop, format, and publish SOPs/work instructions for key manufacturing processes and equipmentWork directly with operators and supervisors to capture best practices and clarify process stepsPartner with Operations, Quality and Engineering to support document control, training materials, and change updatesSupport continuous improvement activities (data collection, basic analysis, and implementation follow-up)Spend time on the production floor to understand workflow, safety requirements, and product quality expectationsWhat youll LearnHow a global manufacturer runs day-to-day operations in a production environmentHow to translate technical processes into clear, usable documentation for training and consistencyProfessional communication skills through cross-functional teamwork and shop-floor engagementThis role is best suited for students pursuing a Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline (or related field) who are interested in manufacturing, process improvement, and practical problem-solving.
