Blood Donor Ambassadors Needed!

Are you a friendly, well-organized and enthusiastic person who would like to help at local blood drives?American Red Cross volunteer Donor Ambassadors ensure that blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. During a blood drive, whether you're greeting donors, answering questions or thanking them for their donation, your courtesy and professionalism will create a favorable impression that encourages ongoing donor support. Why Is This Position so Important?The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40 percent of our nation's blood supply. When you help create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage visitors to make a long-term commitment to regular donations, you improve our ability to meet this critical need. Shifts are available 7 days/week, as early as 7am going to as late as 7pm. Shifts are about 4 hours each, and flexible. However, the most need is currently during weekdays, Monday-Friday.How can you help?Provide great customer service to donors at local blood centers (Oakland, Pleasanton, Newark, Pleasant Hill, San Jose) or community drives. Greet & register donors and staff the canteen area. Overall making donors feel appreciated. Time commitment: Min. 1 shift (4-6 hours) per month, but preferred commitment 1 shift/week. Able to commit for at least 6 months
