You’ll lead core functions like journal entries, reconciliations, sales tax compliance, and debt reporting; all while mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements across departments.Your responsibilities will includeMonth-End Close & General AccountingPrepare and post key journal entries and reconcile general ledger accountsAnalyze financial statements, identify variances, and escalate unusual trendsSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and audit processesReview and mentor work completed by junior accounting staffAssist with financial data preparation in reporting systems (e.g., OneStream, Oracle HFM)Cash and Debt Reporting and ReconciliationMaintain accurate debt schedules, track principal/interest paymentsPrepare journal entries for debt service and related accrualsPerform bank reconciliations for a high volume business with multiple bank accounts Sales Tax Compliance (Preferred)Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returnsGenerate monthly sales tax reports, calculate taxable revenue by stateCollaborate with the Tax team to resolve discrepancies and ensure complianceCross-Functional CollaborationMaintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partnersEnsure compliance with internal controls and Nextech accounting policiesProactively seek out improvements that streamline processes and enhance accuracyWe believe in rewarding excellence; and creating an environment where financial professionals grow and thrive.Professional Growth Paid training, certification support, and education reimbursementOutstanding BenefitsMultiple health plans, including a FREE employee-only optionDental and vision coverage starting after just 30 daysFREE life insurance equal to your annual salary401(k) with 50% company match on the first 6%Optional supplemental coverage for life, disability, accidents, and critical illnessGenerous Time OffSeven paid holidays plus Paid Time OffExclusive discounts on travel, auto, dining, and moreWork-Life BalanceHybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote after first 90 days) subject to business needsUSD $80,000.00/Yr.USD $95,000.00/Yr.We're seeking a driven and collaborative accounting professional with a passion for accuracy and improvement.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 4 years of progressive experience in accounting, including GL and reportingDirect experience with sales tax reporting and debt schedule managementStrong understanding of GAAP and accounting controlsHigh proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, IF formulas; VBA a plus)ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite preferred)Familiarity with ASC 842 and ASC 606 is strongly preferredBackground in large or private equity-backed companies ($100M+ revenue) is a plusExperience in the HVAC or field service industry is desirableHybrid work schedule 3 days onsite, 2 remote (After first 90 days)Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day)Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 lbsOccasional walking, bending, kneeling, and light movementMust be comfortable using office equipment and video conferencing toolsMay require occasional travelMay be required to use a smartphone for secure login via QR code authentication
