This role is responsible for ensuring site-wide compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulations, driving strategic safety initiatives, and facilitating communication and prioritization of PSM tasks across the site. The Process Safety Leader plays a critical role in risk assurance, incident investigation, and continuous improvement of process safety performance.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the day-to-day point of contact for the Hopewell Leadership Team regarding process safety mattersCommunicate site needs and priorities to the PSM Team; escalate issues as neededEnsure timely completion of PSM Compliance Audit actions and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs)Provide guidance and mentorship to process safety engineersLead and attend Site Leadership Meetings to represent PSM concerns and progressOwn and facilitate the site-level Risk Assurance MeetingEnsure investigations are assigned and completed for all Process Safety Events (PSEs)Analyze Tier 3 and Tier 4 data to identify key site focus areas for risk reductionProvide feedback to the PSM Team on Leadership Team expectations and strategic directionServe as MOC Coordinator for the siteLead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layer of Protection (LOPA) studiesStay current on updated industry guidancePerform facility siting reviewsAct as a PSM culture championReview PSM metrics with front line personnelBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering requiredMinimum 10 years of industry experience requiredMinimum 4 years process safety experienceDemonstrated leadership experience at a large-scale site with diverse operational areas Additional QualificationsProject management experienceSix Sigma certificationPHA leader experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience influencing within an organizationRelease modeling and LOPA experience preferredDemonstrated ability to work effectively with hourly union and salaried coworkers at all levels of an organizationThe expected base pay for this position is $104,600 - $156,800We offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include periodic pay rate adjustments based on market competitiveness.
